Toy That Helps Children Learn Yoga Hits Kickstarter

Bendable figure named Jules to help children practice yoga at home

A UK yoga teacher has taken her idea for a toy that helps children learn yoga to crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.

Dawn Caller, from SunRise Yoga, has created Jules, a seven figure that can bend at the legs, arms, neck and hips, allowing children to recreate yoga poses and learn them.

"Studies shows that children who practice yoga experience a reduction of stress, have better and longer sleep, improved digestion, and for parents and children who practice yoga together it strengthens their bond," read a statement on the Kickstarter page.

"Sometimes after a class though they forget how to do a downward dog, warrior pose or a guerrilla pose and want to keep practicing at home. We’ve tried paper handouts but they get misplaced or crumpled and they’re not very exciting.

"We want to be able to give the children something to go away and play with so they can familiarise themselves with the poses and perhaps even come up with new ones themselves."

The campaign aims to raise £5,000 by February 7th, to cover the cost of making the mould of the figure and creatng the minimum quantity need to go into production.

If the Kickstarter is successful, Caller hopes to have the toy available by the end of the March.
